Hello all and welcome to the March edition of the ChannelGrabber Newsletter!

We're keeping up momentum from our fabulous February, and March has been another great month for advancing the ChannelGrabber system and making customers happy, with several more new features as well as system improvements "under the hood" being released  :)

Read on to find out what we've been hard at work on...

Find out about the improvements and brand new features we have been working on for you, and about our future plans for development.

Edit Internal Product Names in ChannelGrabber

A simple change but one we know will be super-useful for a lot of our customers!  Clicking on the Name field for any product in the main Products page will make the name editable, and you can replace it with your own internal title for use within ChannelGrabber.  This will NOT edit the title on the listings associated with that product, so don't worry, no changes will be applied anywhere other than in CG.

This is useful if you have long titles on the sales channels and want to make the titles in ChannelGrabber more concise, or if you want to include extra information such as part numbers in the titles, to make it easier to search for and identify items by details other than just the SKU or title in ChannelGrabber.

Amazon Custom

ChannelGrabber now supports customisation for Amazon orders.  When we import an order that includes customisation details from your buyer, we will mark the order as a custom order and also provide you with a download for the details the buyer has requested.

Cost Price

We have now introduced a new Cost Price field so that the price that you buy each product for can be recorded in ChannelGrabber.  The Cost Price fields can be accessed on the main Products page, within the Details tab.

The field can be populated within the interface as shown above, or in bulk via the Stock Import feature, and can be exported as part of the Stock Export file and the Orders > To CSV export file.

ChannelGrabber Mobile App

Our first iteration of the brand new ChannelGrabber Mobile App is now available on Android via the Google Play store.  At present it is still a beta version which has view-only functionality, so that you can view and search through your most recent orders.

Coming soon will be the ability to process and dispatch orders within the app, and update stock levels via the app too, as well as support for Apple devices.

Low Stock Threshold

We are just about to release a new stock management option to allow you to set low stock thresholds (stock alert levels) per product in ChannelGrabber, so that it will be easier to get a list of your items when they fall below the threshold.   The development work is complete and we're just tidying up the user interface before it is released.

Automatically Create a Purchase Order from

Products with Low Stock

Linked with the above low stock thresholds feature, will be the option to also have products with low stock levels feeding into the purchase order system automatically.

We will even offer you the option to add incoming stock that you have on purchase order to your available stock on your listings, meaning if you have stock arriving imminently, you can start selling it before it has even arrived!  This will make it easier to keep on top of re-ordering stock from your suppliers, and this should in turn boost your sales by making sure you don't end up with downtime on your listings from running out of stock.  Pretty awesome right?  :)

eBay Listing Templates

With so many customers now benefiting from ChannelGrabber's listing tool, we recognise that one of the most highly requested additions to this is the option to add a HTML description template to the listing for eBay.  This will allow you to save a HTML template in ChannelGrabber that can then be applied to the listing when it is submitted to eBay by ChannelGrabber.

Packing Slips

This new feature will allow you to design a packing slip to incorporate key order details without the need to print a full invoice page for every order.  This will make picking and packing your orders more efficient and (we hope) reduce the amount of consumables (ink, paper etc) that you need to use when processing your orders.

If you have an idea for an improvement or new feature you would like to see us add to the system in the future, please do let us know, by emailing featurerequests@channelgrabber.com

If you're asking for something that has already been requested, we will add your vote to the feature to give it higher priority, or if your idea is totally fresh, we will add a new request to our developers' board for votes and future consideration.

We almost always prioritise feature requests based on demand, so the more users that vote for a feature, the higher up the "to-do" list it will move  ;)

Don't forget, you can also check out our public development roadmap as well, which will give you an idea of what we're working on and what's next in line/further down our developers' queue at any time:  ChannelGrabber Transparent Product Roadmap

Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Here, we'll pass on any newsworthy events or changes that we've learned about the e-commerce industry that may affect our system or you, our customers.

Item Location Misrepresentation Policy

eBay have announced changes to their Item Location policies, which are intended to protect genuine UK sellers from losing sales to overseas sellers who claim to be UK-based but are actually shipping from abroad.

eBay say this will also mean a better experience for buyers, as it will provide a clearer indication of postage costs and delivery times.

"In the item location section of your listing, you should clearly specify the city, state (where applicable) and country that you're selling from.

You should also make sure that all the information in your listing matches – for example, any mention of the item location in the item description, needs to be the same as that in the item location field."

Should you be applying for an EORI Number?

If you are a UK company and trade with the EU, it is possible you will need an EORI number (Economic Operator Registration and Identification Number) should the UK leave the EU without a formal deal in place.

According to the European Commission, businesses and people wishing to trade must use the EORI number as an identification number in all customs procedures when exchanging information with Customs administrations.

HMRC advise that if the UK leaves the EU with no deal many UK businesses will need to apply the same processes to EU trade that apply when trading with the rest of the world. If you do not already have a UK EORI number, you’ll need one if you’re going to import or export goods with the EU after Brexit.
